JULIA BROWN

Welcome to my E-Portfolio!

This E-Portfolio is a visual representation of my professional career thus far as a graduating senior at Rutgers University. This site is organized in multiple sections that represent my personal and professional development, as well as my future aspirations in the sport industry.

About Me

My name is Julia Brown. I am currently a senior at Rutgers University majoring in sport management and minoring in business administration. I am graduating in May 2023. I grew up in the small town of New Egypt, New Jersey, where youth football and sports were how the community united. With my father being the head coach of my brother's youth football team for over seven years, I spent my childhood on the sidelines learning to love the sport. This is what sparked my passion into pursuing a professional career in the sport industry.

Past Experience

New Egypt High School

September 2015 - June 2019

From growing up around sports my whole life, I quickly developed a passion for wanting to be involved with the teams as much as possible. As a child I was the water-girl for my brother's football team. I stayed with this team all the way up to our senior year of high school, where I was the team manager responsible for charting offensive plays and organizing film. Along with football, I also was the manager for my high school's wrestling and boys lacrosse teams. These experiences as a manager are what inspired me to major in sport management at Rutgers University.

Rutgers Football Recruiting Intern

September 2021 - Present

When I began my junior year at Rutgers University, I started my internship with Rutgers Football in the recruiting department. This was my first time ever interning for a sport organization. In this internship I am responsible for preparation work for official events such as games and visits. This consists of organizing inventory and performing administrative and operational duties as assigned. My time in the recruiting department has taught me so much about what goes into working for a Division I collegiate program and has largely contributed to my professional development. My teamwork, preparation, and organizational skills have all improved greatly since I first started.

Rutgers Football Video/Technology Intern

September 2022 - Present

Along with being a recruiting intern at Rutgers Football, I also began interning for the video/technology department at the start of the 2022 season. My internship with this department has taught me so many new skills that I never thought I would ever learn and has given me opportunities I have always aspired for. In this internship, I am responsible for filming and editing all practices and games from both tight and all-22 angles. I also have experience in retaining film from NCAA games for the use of the team and am now proficient in using XOS Digital Media. Along with these responsibilities, I have also had the opportunity to film all home games and travel with the team to film at The Ohio State University, University of Minnesota, Michigan State University, and University of Maryland. When traveling with the team, I am responsible in preparing the stadium and the hotel for their arrival. Working in the video/technology department for the 2022 season has been an experience I am so grateful for. It has allowed me to grow so much professionally and gain valuable knowledge and leadership skills along the way.
